DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE

Prince Driving School would like to introduce the Maryborough Defensive Driving Course!

• Full Day Course 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM in your own car.
• Most experienced instructors in the Fraser Coast.
• Cert 4 Qualified Instructors with Queensland Transport and Main Roads.
• CAMS Motorsport License Holders.
• Perfect for L-Platers, P-Platers, Corporate Fleet and Court Order drivers.

This one-day Prince Driving School Defensive Level 1 course is suited to all drivers of regular passenger vehicles, including four-wheel drives and light commercial vehicles.

The aim of this first-level course is to provide post-licence driver training to raise awareness, skill levels and assess attitude and the potential dangers of the road.

Defensive Driving is the need we all have. Every driver on the road should undertake a defensive driving course to learn how to handle their vehicle in emergency situations and, more importantly, how to avoid the majority of emergency situations in the first place.

We mix theoretical and practical driving sessions conducted at safe road speeds in your own vehicle. The mix of practical and theoretical components of this advanced driver training session deliver actual on-road safety skills that underpin proactive driving. 

The Defensive Driving Course provides a combination of practical and interactive class sessions in actual on road safety skills.

They are specially designed to educate drivers of the risks associated with driving, and skills needed to avoid accidents. The courses encourage proactive driving aimed at improving community road safety.

Theoretical subjects covered will include:

• Defensive driving - what it means and how it is achieved.
• Evaluation of the main part of the car - the driver! 
• Driver attitude.
• Practical road safety tips.
• Explanation of safety features of modern cars and how to use them.
• Tyres and their importance in driving safety.
• Vision skills.
• Basic vehicle dynamics and control.

Practical exercises will be conducted in: 
• Assessment of vehicle condition.
• Seating and steering.
• Emergency braking. 
• Emergency lane changes.
• Reaction times and their effects on stopping distance.
• Vehicle handling/ steering techniques.
• Motokhana exercise.

Cost per student is $165. Lunch and refreshments are included. (If you require a car and supervisor for the practical session, it is only an extra $20).

L Plate Holders must be accompanied by a Open License Holder (held for over 1 year) for the after lunch practical exercises.

Currently courses will be conducted on Saturdays. Fridays are available for corporate days (for groups of up to 15).

The Course will be conducted at the Maryborough Showgrounds in a safe closed course situation.

Dates are subject to booking numbers, maximum 15 people per class.
